Senior Aero Engineer for a Aero/Thermal Engineering Department

 

• Looking for someone who can give input on the “big picture design”
• Someone who has experience with atmospheric conditions
• Drive, mentor, and take on more of a leadership role
• Masters Degree is a must, PhD is preferred

Essential functions:

• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and leadership on challenging projects in a cross-discipline team environment
• Provide design solutions for aerodynamic, fluid dynamic, and thermodynamic systems
• Provide calculations, reports, and trade-off studies as well as technical presentations for projects and proposals to internal team, management, and customers
• Monitor and assure technical performance, schedule, and budget for areas of responsibility
• Participate in long-term planning and staff development of the Aero group

 

Qualifications/Education:

• Masters degree or PhD in Aerodynamics, Aeronautics, or Aerospace Engineering or directly-related field
• 5+ years experience as an aero engineer in a senior or lead role
• Excellent skills in subsonic, transonic, and hypersonic aerodynamics
• Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
• Demonstrated team player with interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal comminucation skills

The following experiences and skills would be a plus:

• Design of aero ground test equipment
• Acoustics
• Wind tunnel testing
• CFD methods
• Heat transfer and thermodynamics
• Design of flow processes and equipment
