IN-Staff Software Engineer

  • Job Responsibilities:
    * Location: Fort Wayne, IN * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: This position is for a software expert with experience developing and building large, complex systems. It is expected that the candidate be comfortable in all phases of the software lifecycle to include Systems, Software and Integration/Test. Skills that are needed include: Plans, designs, develops and tests software or applications for software enhancements and new products. Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Designs, develops, operates, maintains, and documents software to be applied to engineering and scientific requirements. In addition, the candidate may be required to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into software specifications. Candidate must be able to travel to Canada if required. * * Required Skills: BS Degree in software engineering +7 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience is preferred. Advanced degree recommended. All candidates must have experience with software architecture development, software application design, implementation, and test of software using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and development environments. Has demonstrated strengths and experience in the following areas: o Experienced in the use of C++, Linux OS, VxWorks operating system and WindRiver embedded development tools. Experience with C#/.NET a plus. Understanding of service oriented/based architectures, OO design/programming is a plus. o Conduct Requirements Analysis and develop System level derived requirements and development of system requirements and design products such as Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS), System Design Document (SDD), Interface Control Document (ICD), and Interface Design Document (IDD) o Conduct System functional analysis including trade studies and white paper analysis as needed o Support to the development team and integration team for software, test and integration challenges. o Knowledge of hard and soft real-time operating environments o Familiarity with the avionics digital bus (e.g., 1553) I/O processing o Experienced with developing Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test Cases for relatively complex subsystems o Experienced using Telelogic's DOORs, the Rational tools Requisite Pro, Rhapsody, Subversion, ClearCase and ClearQuest o Develop System Design using Unified Modeling Language (UML) design elements Candidates must have demonstrated excellent oral/written communication skills, and interpersonal skills to support interaction with customer representatives, team members, and internal management. The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules. Candidate must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance *
