Job Responsibilities:
* Location: Orlando, FL * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: BS Degree in software engineering discipline with 8+ years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. Advanced Degree recommended. This position is seeking a strong technical contributor as an individual software leader and designer in the development of military C2 Training environments using Simulation and Stimulation. Candidate must have prior demonstrated software development experience in design and implementation of military simulation or commercial game technologies. Candidate must also have prior success in software project planning and execution. Software planning, design and implementation, test and group coordination of moderate to large software intensive simulation solutions is required. Candidate will work for the GDC4S Team in Orlando performing full lifecycle software engineering on modeling, simulation and training programs. This position requires software requirements analysis, detailed design, implementation and test of software as well as planning, development and test of software systems and software applications. Significant individual contributions, team leadership, software task planning and budget allocation, appropriate application of robust flexible processes and contribution to medium-large technical proposal support are required. Demonstrated experience working within a project group and across departments is required. Expanded contact to include program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc. Frequent contact with senior management both internal and external. Frequent contact with business development functions. Very knowledgeable of technical capabilities of others within the department and able to form and lead them in a team environment. Willing to mentor more junior engineers. * Required Skills: Candidate must have at least 8 years experience in software development and coding. 3 years Embedded Software development a plus. Candidate must have at least 5 years experience working with C/C++, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008, Greenhills Software Integrity or in a Microsoft .NET development environment, using Object Oriented Design and software design architectures with focus in two or more of the following areas: JBOSS, JAVA 5, JEE 5, J2EE, Hibernate, or JSP. Experience with low level driver and microcontroller development (ARM7/9), Java SDK 1.5 or later, Java Enterprise Edition middleware, Web Services, SOA frameworks, eclipse, and Database design is desired. Experience with DIS/HLA simulation protocols or other networking protocols is desired. Experience with OPNET modeling software is a plus. Knowledge of software compilation and link processes is required. Experience with software debugging and software problem identification/isolation is required. Knowledge of configuration management and CMMI software processes and metrics is desired. Experience with software requirements analysis, software design, software implementation and software testing is desired. Demonstrated experience in software team participation and software project execution is required. Successful accomplishments must include participation in the delivery of small to moderate software intensive systems. Candidate must be able to travel 20% of the time.
