FL-Simulation Systems Engineer

  • Job Responsibilities:
    * Location: Orlando, FL * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: BS Degree in a technical field related to systems engineering with 3+ years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. This position is seeking a technical contributor as an individual designer in the development of military C2 Training environments using Simulation and Stimulation. Candidate must possess a background in the Microsoft Windows development environment. Previous successful contributions to Systems or Software requirements analysis, design, implementation and test on programs are required. Demonstrated experience working with engineering teams and group coordination is required. Experience and collaboration with external teams is desired. Experience with simulation networking protocols (HLA, DIS) is desired. Experience with service-based network centric architectures and automated development tools is desired. Candidate will have expanded contact within internal work groups. Usually participates with other members of the team. Mentee relationship(s) established. Occasional outside business contact. * * Required Skills: This position requires 3+ years of engineering development experience, participation in all phases of system design, development, test, and production for the development of simulation and training service-based systems. This includes developing operational concept models, providing system requirements definition, derivation and definition of high and low level system architectures, and providing software and test support during the software implementation and test phase of small to moderate sized projects. Participation in the creation and modification of both UNIX-based and Windows-based applications using C++ and Java desired. Experience with OPNET modeling software is a plus. A successful candidate must participate in applying systematic processes to trade study, analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test activities within a team environment. A successful candidate must also have object oriented and structured programming experience, the ability to adhere to a formal development process, a desire to work with new technologies, and the ability to participate in system and software development teams. This position may also require support for new business pursuits through development of technical briefings, system design concepts, and proposal development. Successful accomplishments must include participation in the delivery of small to moderate software intensive systems. Candidate must be able to travel 20% of the time. Candidate must be a US Citizen. Candidate must have, or be capable of obtaining, a US Top Secret Security Clearance. *
