  • Job Responsibilities:
    * Location: Northridge, CA * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: Lead the R&D activities of product development projects,Create detailed product design specifications that meet customer requirements,Communicate design concepts and technical plans effectively,Construct & evaluate prototypes for meeting design specifications,Lead troubleshooting activities of design issues,Perform tolerance analysis of designs and stack-up analysis,Conduct technical design reviews and presentations,Create design verification and validation plans, design fixtures for testing and direct clinically relevant testing to meet requirements,Write detailed protocols and reports,Review drawings, create ECO's,Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in product design and development * Required Skills: : Snr. Level Mechanical Test Engineer To Perform At Minimum The Following Functions: -Ability to proficiently program LabVIEW code and modify existing LabVIEW programs. -Design and solid modeling of fixtures for R&D prototype part testing (SolidWorks) -Ability to creatively modify existing fixtures/tooling to accommodate new features to developing/evolving prototype R&D parts. -Ability to analyze technical challenges, evaluate innovative solutions, and generate part specifications. -Ability to interface with part vendors. -Ability to develop R&D test procedures and data analysis methods to ensure prototype parts meet specifications -Ability to run tests and monitor real time data to ensure tests are running as desired. This will require critical thinking skills so that test parameter adjustments can be made on the fly. -Ability to critically analyze acquired test data and make recommendations for improvement, determine causes of failure, and part implementation methods. -Ability to generate test reports, engineering reports, Powerpoint presentations. -Ability to effectively communicate with inter-departmental R&D staff and outside vendors. Required Skills: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering Demonstrated ability to manage requirements as it relates to design, documentation and suppliers Experience in medical design and manufacturing (Desired) Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills Ability to conduct tolerance stack-up analysis Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings per ASME Y14.5 Experience with solid modeling tools such as SolidWorks and Pro/e Understating of assembly methods for plastics such and ultrasonic welding and laser welding (Desired) Experience with process development and validation Proven track record in bringing concepts to production Development Tools: LabVIEW (REQUIRED) CAD Systems:Solidworks Education Level:BSME / MSME (Desired) Oral Communication:Excellent Travel:0-10% Travel Written Communication:Excellent Legible Handwriting
