AZ-Sr Configuration Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
* Location: Scottsdale, AZ * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: Information/Configuration Management (ICM) function. Assigned configuration management responsibilities will include functioning as the custodian of baseline definition documents, and facilitating/managing changes to those baselines, primarily in an electronic environment. The candidate must be able to work independently, performing complex Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) activities for medium or large projects. Contributes CM input to the concurrent engineering process (i.e. as designed vs. as built). Supports project level Change Control Boards (CCBs). Processes PDOs through the release and change process. Configures and maintains automated CM databases (TeamCenter, ClearCase, ClearQuest). A background in maintaining Bills of Material in TeamCenter is desirable. The ideal applicant has a BS degree in a technical field or equivalent plus 3 years directly related experience. The successful applicant will provide ICM domain knowledge, participate in division ICM process definition, and mentor and train ICM analysts in performance of their duties. * * Required Skills: An AA degree is required, a BS or BA degree (or equivalent) is highly desirable, and at least 3 years directly related experience with government contracted product development programs is required. Position requires a current competent level of computer skills and applications, specifically ClearCase, ClearQuest, Teamcenter, and Microsoft products (Word and Excel). Knowledge of UNIX and use of ClearCase in the UNIX environment are essential. Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and be capable of working both independently and in a team situation. Comprehensive understanding of software life cycles and a complete understanding of CM and DM methodologies and processes are critical. Knowledge of quality models and how to apply them to CM is desirable. Candidate must be experienced with CDRL processing and submittals and with Configuration Status Accounting practices.
