AZ-Sr Configuration Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
* Location: Scottsdale, AZ * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: The successful applicant will provide professional expertise within BMSD's Information/Configuration Management (ICM) team. Assigned responsibilities will include functioning as the custodian of product baselines and the associated definition documents. Specific activities will also include facilitating and managing changes to product baselines. The successful applicant will function as a member of project team(s) by generating CCB agendas/minutes and maintaining project configuration logs. The applicant's data management responsibilities will encompass tracking, maintaining, submitting and retrieving project documents and submittals in a timely manner and in accordance with established schedules. The successful applicant will possess a good understanding of baseline identification, release and change management, configuration status accounting and product verification and audit. He/she will understand, generate and perform to configuration management plans and will assist in gathering meaningful metrics in suppport of process improvement and proposal preparation. Conversant with Software Configuration Management preferable. As requested, the successful applicant will assist in proposal generation providing the appropriate ICM domain knowledge. * * Required Skills: A 4 year degree is preferred, preferably in a technical field. Direct experience in Configuration Management can be recognized as a portion of this formal training requirement. Special consideration is given to applicants with prior software configuration management experience. Experience with government contracted product development programs is desired. Knowledge/experience with personal computer operations as well as various computer applications is a fundamental requirement of the position. A working user knowledge of Microsoft operating systems is required; and experience with large distributed applications such as ClearCase, TeamCenter and Smarteam is desired. Good interpersonal and team skills are required. The successful applicant will be articulate in both written and oral cummunication. He/she must be willing to work extra hours as needed.
