AZ-Mechanical Designer

  • Job Responsibilities:
    * Location: Scottsdale, AZ * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: Provides strong technical contribution as an individual designer and critical team member. Assist Mechanical Engineers in creating designs of high reliability electronic hardware for Government agencies. Must have a working knowledge of design and drafting standards including application of ASME Y14.5. Expected to understand simple stress, thermal and dynamic analysis. Performs detailed design of mechanical components and their integration into larger systems. Manages design sub-tasks in support of assignments within the project. Candidate will be expected to create complex CAD models and export detail information from those models to create simple to complex piece part and assembly product definition (drawings) while considering fabrication techniques. Experience with injection molded parts highly desirable. Will be expected to change, check or generate simple to complex layouts/CAD models. May be asked to perform simple to complex tolerance analysis. May be expected to research, generate, check and incorporate change orders to existing drawings/documents. * * Required Skills: AA degree in Design/Drafting, CAD Technology or similar field of study required. A minimum of 10 years experience is required in Design/Drafting field. Formal training in Pro/ENGINEER with a minimum of four years direct work experience using the software tool is required. Familiarly with Pro/Wildfire will be considered a plus. Must be proficient in the use of Pro/Intralink. Experience in electronics packaging of military radios electronics is preferred. Applicant will be expected to apply sound machining, die casting, and sheet metal, and cable design manufacturing process to their designs. Must be a self-starter and able to exercise initiative and sound judgment in following directions and/or instruction from more experienced personnel. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Good interpersonal and organization skills are a necessity and must be willing to work some extra hours if needed. Candidate must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance *
