AZ-Mechanical Designer

  • Job Responsibilities:
    * Location: Scottsdale, AZ * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: Checks and models 3D solids using CATIA V5 release 14 (or higher) and PRO-E Wildfire. Produces and checks the associated 2D documentation that includes parts lists, fabrication, cable and assembly drawings. Understands and conforms to configuration management processes using TeamCenter, Smarteam or Intralink. Generates release notices and change requests for developed work products. Performs worst-case tolerance analysis using geometric tolerancing techniques per ASME Y14.5M. Must be able to obtain a DOD Security Clearance. * * Required Skills: Applicants should have at a minimum an AA degree in Mechanical Design or a related field plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant Mechanical Design experience. The successful applicant for this position will have experience with electro-mechanical design using Catia V5 rev. 14 (or higher) and Pro-E Wildfire toolset is a plus. The applicant must be able to conduct mechanical design activities that transform sheet metal into complete designs that facilitate assembly and producability, along with knowledge of plastic molded part generation. The position's responsibilities also encompass producing and checking the associated 2D documentation packages that include parts lists, fabrication, cable and assembly drawings. The ability to perform worst case tolerance analysis using geometric tolerancing techniques per ASME Y14.5M is important and the understanding of basic manufacturing methods is a plus. The sucessful applicant will understand and comply with configuration management principles and processes. Individual must be self-directed and team oriented with excellent communication skills.
