Job Responsibilities:
* Location: Huntsville, AL * * Type: 12 Month Contract * * Job Description: BS/BA Degree in a technical field related to systems engineering + 7 years demonstrated results, or equivalent experience, advanced degree recommended. Participate in various phases of system design for the development of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and functional enhancements and component design for the Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS). Candidate will participate as an active member of a project team and accept direction and mentorship from senior team members. Candidate will perform stakeholder analysis, development of architectural concept models, trade studies, identification of key performance parameters (KPP), providing system requirements definition, derivation and definition of high and low level system products to support the TAIS system during systems, software and test phases. Senior technical contributor with demonstrated design skills; is assigned difficult technical problems within domain of expertise. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Plans and executes significant project tasks or small projects. Ability to lead & to take on technologically challenging tasks. Displays good depth of knowledge. Begins to provide mentoring to less experienced engineers. Owns project interdependencies. Works to optimize tasks and resources in support of multiple project(s). Begins to support proposals. Fully understands process applications within domain of expertise. Leads small continuous process improvement efforts. Extended contact with senior levels within other engineering depts. Required to work with other functional areas. Occasional contact with senior management both internal and external. Routine contact/travel to customers and vendors. Occasional contact with business development functions. Aware of other's capabilities and able to leverage them in a team environment. * * Required Skills: Demonstrated pattern of continuous learning. Provides clear direction for less experienced engineers. Skilled at developing and integrating groundbreaking ideas. Integrates complex strategies with mitigation plans. Successful candidates will be familiar with the following tools and languages or their equivalents: SOA, Web Services, Telelogic DOORs, Rational Rose, Rational Requisite Pro, Enterprise Architect, Rational Clear Case, Rational Clear Quest, Clear DDTS, UML design. Familiarity with the following languages and protocols is a plus: Windows, UNIX, Linux, UML design, C, C++, C#, Java, XML, SOAP and E3. Experience in the following areas is a plus: Airspace Command and Control, Future Combat Systems. Candidate must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance. *
