Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
- Job Responsibilities:
JOB FUNCTION:
We are looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer to work within a multidisciplinary medical device development team. This individual will be responsible for all mechanical aspects of a CRRT device including part design, configuration control, vendor selection, system cables as well as support the product during and after it transitions to manufacturing. This will require interface with both internal and contractor project personnel. The successful candidate will serve as the mechanical engineering leader for the project and should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary projects that require industrial design, electronic, electromechanical, and software engineering.
KNOWLEDGE:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS: List minimum level required to perform the job competently:
Education:
o Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or similar required.
Experience
o Minimum 7 years prior experience.
Skills:
o SolidWorks 2009/2010 is a must
o Advanced training and experience with various plastic technologies.
o Strong working knowledge of polymeric materials.
o Manufacturing / Design experience with the following being a strong plus:
o Project management (certification) with working knowledge of MS Project or comparable PM software.
o Process control
o Scientific molding or equivalent structured training
o FMEA
o Mold Flow software/analysis
o Six Sigma (green belt certification)
o Lean Manufacturing
o Mathcad a plus.
o Use of oscilloscope, multimeter etc.
o Labwindows CVI a plus.
o Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
o Experience in electromechanical, sheetmetal and plastics component design
o Medical device industry a plus, but not necessary.
