Sr. Controls/Systems Engineer
- Job Responsibilities:
JOB FUNCTION:
We are looking for a Controls / Systems Engineer with a background in controls/electrical/electronics engineering. This individual will lead the development of the system controls algorithms, function as Systems Engineer and technical leader, and support the product during and after it transitions to manufacturing. This individual must be a hands on person capable of generating system mathematical models, using hardware in the loop development tests systems, implementing DSP filtering techniques and quickly developing robust control algorithms. In this position, the individual works closely with all functional groups. The successful candidate will serve as the engineering leader for the project and should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary projects that require electronic, electromechanical, and software engineering.
KNOWLEDGE:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS: List minimum level required to perform the job competently:
Education:
o Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Consoles, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar required.
Experience
o Minimum 7 years prior experience.
Skills:
o Bachelor or graduate degree in Controls Systems/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
o Experience in safety critical controls development environment.
o Proven track record of successful control and system development on sophisticated electromechanical devices.
o Ability to generate mathematic models of real world system components to demonstrate control concept feasibility.
o Expert in hardware in the loop control systems such as VisSim.
o Ability to make difficult decisions involving trade-offs and risk-benefits assessments.
o Problem solving experience - can leverage own expertise and input from others to identify and resolve critical issues.
o Comfortable exerting influence without direct reporting relationships, and with delegating to others where appropriate.
o Experience in medical device development needed.
