Program Manager for NAS

  • Job Responsibilities:
    We are seeking a highly talented, motivated and accomplished person to lead our New Product Development team for Networked Attached Storage (NAS) products. Responsibilities Leads the development and commercialization of new NAS products using a defined stage-gate process. - Works closely with Marketing team to ensure that product concepts are collinear with brand promise and positioning and aligned with corporate goals. - Works closely with Finance team to create financial models to evaluate financial feasibility metrics before launch. - Manages teams of internal engineers and external technology partners to deliver NAS technology and products. - Interacts with external ODMs for commercialization of NAS products. - Ensures that projects are delivered on-time and within budget. Plans and directs all aspects of engineering, scientific and Program Management activities related to product development: budgets, contracts, technical oversight of Contract Manufacturers, product specifications and required regulatory certifications. Defines and justifies required engineering resources, as needed. Delivers best-in-class product designs on time while ensuring good value, as measured by customer research metrics. Manages the business’s products and Intellectual Property through patents, trademarks, confidentiality agreements and other related documents. Qualifications Skills Ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a program manager role, in development of networked attached storage products. Awareness of the regulatory environment vis-à-vis data storage products is a plus. Ability to work under tight deadlines and time constraints is essential. Proven leadership capability in project management is essential. Must be adept at stage-gate and other new product development processes. Experience in development and commercialization of solutions for home network and storage applications. Knowledge of DLNA, uPnP and iTune protocols and requirements is essential. Working knowledge of file systems, operating systems, network interfaces and networking protocols is required. Networked/Shared and RAID storage management experience is essential. Host-Client configuration and management experience is preferred. Demonstrable skills in communicating (written and oral) with peers, team members, executive management and with others in industry and academia is essential. Must have demonstrated expertise and success in working in a highly cross-functional along with remote located technical teams which includes international. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-15% of the time. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar field is essential. Advanced degree is preferred. PMP Certification – ability and desire to pursue, required. Certification in process or completed is ideal.
