Electrical Engineer

  • Job Responsibilities:
Our client is looking for someone who has some experience in avionic program design. Alternately, military or biomedical (regulated industries) are options. I need an engineer who has experience in analog, digital, processor, and CPLD design as well as one who has a systems engineering approach and can dig into aircraft interfaces to determine what is needed to solve a customer problem. For example, a customer may request a product that interfaces with another piece of equipment, they often do not provide a specification. I need someone to find the equipment information and drive requirements. FORMAL DESCRIPTION: The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for defining and supporting real-time embedded products in development. This includes concept/new product definition, detailed analysis and design, design entry, verification and certification of products used in advanced aircraft avionic systems. Products include flight critical systems such as data converters, air data computers, engine sensing and trend monitoring, fuel flow management, and advanced sensors systems. Major responsibilities: Concept development and documentation of electrical system requirements and design of flight critical avionic systems. Conduct electrical circuit design, simulations, component selection, review schematics/board lay-out, and design release in accordance with internal processes, D0-254, D0-160, and MIL-STD-461F/704 design standards. Generate and lead engineering change orders from initial release through to production. Support the development of documentation for FAA certification and new product introduction. Contribute to the development of customer proposals, proto-type development, and customer field support. Experience with real-time embedded aircraft systems, analog/digital, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, FPGA, and ARM processor architectures are highly desired. Requirements: MS or BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field and three years experience with electronic hardware design.
