Tool Maker
- Job Responsibilities:
Minimum: High school, Trade school - Trade/Die Certificate, Preferred: Dunwoody grad. or equiv.
Must currently hold or must be able to obtain a secret security clearance (reinstateable). U.S. Citizen
Job Description:
Support high tech DOD development and IRAD programs with rapid prototype and precision toleranced components and assemblies. Work in a tool maker environment; low volume, medium to high complexity components with rapid response. Operate all standard machine shop equipment both manual and CNC programable. Work with engineers to develop mechanical designs during early development programs. Work with outside suppliers to deliver time critical hardware to test. Develop Pro-E models from engineering descriptions, modify Pro-E designs to meet machining needs, transfer Pro-E files to required CNC software capable to be run on machine lab equipment.
Requirements:
- Ability to use all standard machine shop equipment including CNC turning center, mill, and wire EDM.
- Fully capable with Pro-E Wild Fire.
- Ability to program CNC equipment by hand as well as using CAD software.
- 5 years minimum experience as tool maker
- Must qualify for DoD Secret Clearance
- Good interpersonal skills to work with engineers, administrators, and suppliers in a fast moving environment
- Able to work overtime during rush periods in support of programs
Technical Skills:
- Pro-E Wild Fire CAD software
- CNC programming and operation
- Understand mechanical drawings
This will be for an approximate 1 year time period with a possibility of a contract to hire
