Support Engineer
- Job Responsibilities:
This work assignment will include providing direct support to mechanical and electrical packaging personnel for desktop computing. Prior Education and/or experience in mechanical design or engineering of at least moderately complex products is very important. The preferred candidate would be able to:
1) provide support directly to application users regarding best practices, modeling guidelines, and improving their productivity.
2) demonstrate advanced application knowledge of PTC's products (Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and Windchill) for use in computer-aided product engineering, design, drafting, and data management.
3) provide desktop troubleshooting of application and performance issues. Perform fault isolation of root causes on desktop systems with operating system software of SUN microsystems (Solaris) and Microsoft (Windows).
4) perform assessments that include these applications and various desktop hardware configurations. Purpose is to validate software improvements, system reliability, or processing speed.
5) perform most tasks independently but with general work instructions from existing staff that are highly experienced in this work.
