Objective:  To provide engineering support for manufacturing by performing duties related to defining, structuring, documenting, and assisting in the execution of processes used to produce products that meet or exceed customer requirements in a timely manner.  To execute customer quotation projects as assigned. To walk new products through the entire manufacturing process from the time raw material arrives to the time parts are shipped to the customer to ensure the production readiness of all processes required. 

Areas of Responsibility:

• New product /process introduction
• Follow all new parts and ECN’s through the shop from raw material through finished product
• Ensure all processes are capable of producing quality product at estimated production rates
• Improve process where required to achieve and exceed projected standards and profit margins
• Amend process documentation where necessary to communicate special instructions determined necessary through first run audit
• Recommend process changes and updated quotes when necessary
• Document Standard Work when required to ensure consistency between all operators and shifts
• Train operators on proper techniques when required to achieve production standards
• Verify accuracy of process control plan to ensure quality
• Verify setup methods and time to be appropriate and adequate to meet predicted standards
• Additional Duties required to support new product introductions 

• Manufacturing Engineering
• Works with Production Supervisors and leads to resolve issues with current processes that are not producing expected results
• Facilitate training and enhancement of operator’s skills
• Facilitate teamwork and communication to attain common goal
• Assists operators in developing corrective action where applicable
• Creates shop routing and bill of materials documentation when required
• Recommends and coordinates tooling required either through Bauer’s tooling department or outside venders based on cost, lead time, and complexity
• Additional duties as assigned

• Inside sales Engineering
• Quote packages of customer RFQ’s as assigned
• Verify and maintain production standards to support sales commitments
• Additional duties as assigned

• Project Management
• Plan, organize, and lead projects from time to time as necessary to support business initiatives and as assigned    

• Other Responsibilities
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Required Skills:

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work cross functionally to accomplish objectives
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft office applications
• Must demonstrate the ability to learn, utilize, and function within the ERP system

• Must have strong project management skills 

Required Education / Experience:

• High School  /G.E.D
• Bachelors Degree with major in Mechanical or Industrial engineering preferred, but extensive related experience may be acceptable
• Minimum of 3 years related experience 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• May require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• May frequently require reaching, stooping, bending and standing
• Indoor, seasonally air-conditioned and heated, machine shop environment
• Frequent noise
• Eye and hearing protection are required in the production area (employer provided).

Tools and Equipment:                 

CNC machining centers, wire EDM, CNC/NC turning centers, laser cutting systems & controls, stamping presses, CNC & manual tube benders, drill presses, band saws, cold saws, welders, FARO CMM’s, height gages personal computers, phone, printers.
